All ingredients are thoughtfully and sustainably sourced, as well as phthalate and paragon free AND cruelty-free! Candles are made with clean-burning soy blend wax and fragrance oils made with both natural and manmade materials.

There’s actually several reasons to use both synthetic and natural oils. First, this allows for more complex and unique scent combinations. Second, fragrance oils are often more sustainable to produce than manufacturing essential oils. Using barrels of sandalwood essential oils is not an ethical or sustainable option. Additionally, essential oils like sandalwood, frankincense, and rosewood are endangered, so using these alternatives (and ensuring the toxins that are dangerous to inhale are excluded) is how Primrose chooses to create each candle for you. Third, synthetic fragrances allow me to keep prices affordable.

Many candles out there are made with paraffin wax, which is a petroleum by-product. Paraffin wax contains toxins and can be harmful to burn. Gross. We use soy wax because it’s derived from a vegetable, biodegradable, and renewable. Soy waxes burn longer and cleaner with minimal soot.

Heck yeah! All of our candles are sent with some instructions, but here’s the main gist- make sure that wick is trimmed before each lighting & make sure you are keeping that candle lit for at least 2 hours the first time. Candles have memories and it remembers how far it burned the last time and will only go to said spot the next time. This causes a tunnel if you're not lighting it for long enough.

If properly burning, your double wick candle will burn for 60+ hours and your single wicks will burn for 45+ hours. Properly burning means candles are lit for 3-4 hour increments and remembering to keep that wick trimmed.

Yes, there’s an “Add a gift message!” box when you get to your cart. If it’s short, I’ll handwrite your love note. If it’s a little longer, I’ll have to print it:) Make sure to sign your name on the note if you want it there- I never know if people want it to be a surprise or not if the gifter's name is not included in the note.

Primrose is grateful to collaborate with local Indianapolis shop Foundry 317 for local pickups. If this option is chosen at checkout, there is no shipping charge, and the customer will be emailed when their order is ready for pickup. Once the order is dropped off to Foundry 317, the order is considered complete and up to the customer to pick up their items. If you have any concerns with your pickup order, please contact Primrose within 30 days of your order placement.

Yes! Your tracking will be emailed to you as your order ships.

This happens… Please email kelsey@primrosecandleco.com with a photo of the broken candle and the order number and I'll either send a replacement or provide a refund.

Packages are shipped out 2 times a week. Remember, this is a one-woman-operation over here, so I value promptness but also get a little swamped at times. If you need your order asap, send me an email!
